New Patients at Chiropractic Center of Vernon

New patients at Chiropractic Center of Vernon

Trying a new chiropractor can come with a lot of questions. What will the first visit be like? Will you need X-rays? Will treatment start that day? At Chiropractic Center of Vernon, we want you to feel informed before you even walk through the door.

We’ve been providing chiropractic care in Vernon and the surrounding Tri-City community since 1996. Dr. David Giacalone takes a whole-body approach, which means he looks beyond the area that hurts to better understand what may be behind your pain, headaches, disc issues or injuries. Care is always tailored to the individual, whether you’re coming in for a recent problem or something that’s been bothering you for a while.

Our goal is to help you feel better, function better and understand what you can do between visits to keep making progress. Before your first appointment, you can complete your paperwork online, or our front desk team can help you with it when you arrive.

PATIENT INTAKE FORM

What Happens at Your First Visit?

Your first appointment usually takes about an hour. That gives Dr. Giacalone time to talk with you about what’s been going on, review your health history and complete a thorough examination.

Depending on your needs, your visit may include:

  • A detailed history and examination
  • X-rays, if they’re considered necessary
  • A clear explanation of the examination findings
  • Time to ask questions and talk through your options
  • Your first chiropractic treatment, when appropriate

In many cases, treatment can begin that same day. If Dr. Giacalone determines that chiropractic care isn’t the right fit for your situation, he’ll refer you to another healthcare provider.

What to expect during regular chiropractic visits

What Are Regular Visits Like?

Once your initial evaluation is complete and a care plan is in place, regular visits are usually much quicker. Most take about 15 minutes.

Depending on where you are in your care, a visit may include a chiropractic adjustment, additional therapies for inflammation or muscle spasm, and exercises for the area involved. The plan can change as you progress, so care isn’t based on a one-size-fits-all routine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I need X-rays?

Not everyone does. X-rays are recommended only when Dr. Giacalone feels they’re needed to get a clearer picture of what’s going on.

Will I receive treatment at my first appointment?

Often, yes. If your examination shows that chiropractic care may be appropriate for you, treatment can usually begin at that first visit.

How long will my appointments take?

Your first visit usually takes about an hour. Regular appointments are typically much shorter, with most lasting 15 minutes or less.
